Boxxet

Boxxet

Boxxet (pronounced “box set”) brings together the “best of” news, blogs, photos, gear, services and much more on your favorite subjects. For the things you care about (teams, hobbies, interests, schools, towns, etc), Boxxet’s unique combination of computer automation and community participation produces the most diverse and complete best-of compilations.

Why Boxxet?

Because the search engines only give us back one piece of information. Because the news sites only give us news. And because no one brings all this information together in a way that we like. For all of us who are passionate about a subject (a particular gadget, a sports team, a hobby, a holiday destination, a hometown, a sport or a company or industry), we still need to do far too much surfing and searching to find what they want.

Any contribution you can make, however small, will produce a better Boxxet for you and your fellow readers. From rating items to submitting stories, ideas or links of your own, Boxxet wants you to be part of the Boxxet. Go to your favorite Boxxet and get started!

Pandora

Pandora

The name Pandora means “all gifted” in Greek.

Pandora Media™ (formerly Savage Beast Technologies™), is here to help you discover new music you’ll love.

Pandora™ is the doorway to this vast trove of musical information. With Pandora you can explore to your heart’s content. Just drop the name of one of your favorite songs or artists into Pandora and let the Genome Project go. It will quickly scan its entire world of analyzed music, almost a century of popular recordings - new and old, well known and completely obscure - to find songs with interesting musical similarities to your choice. Then sit back and enjoy as it creates a listening experience full of current and soon-to-be favorite songs for you.

You can create as many “stations” as you want. And you can even refine them. If it’s not quite right you can tell it more and it will get better for you.

scratch·list

scratch·list

Ever find yourself frantically searching for a web page you viewed last week but didn’t bother bookmarking?

scratch·list is your answer - a “scratchpad” for bookmarks. It’s simple - no accounts or passwords required. You get a unique bookmarklet to add to your browser’s bookmarks toolbar. When you’re visiting a web page you might like to save (but don’t feel like committing to a bookmark), click the bookmarklet to add it to your scratch·list.

Of course, you can tag links. But they’ve taken it a step further - set up rules to automatically tag links that match a search string you provide. Like to browse eBay auctions? Set up a rule to tag all ebay.com links with “eBay”. Efficient, huh?

You can view your scratch·list whenever you want - just click the bookmarklet to get there. To help you keep your bookmarks tidy, they’ll automatically delete them after 30 days (or however long you want - you decide). If you just need more time, you can easily give a link a few more days. If you want to save it for the long haul, one click let’s you post the link to del.icio.us, Simpy, and more of your favorite social bookmarking sites.
